{Family} Tulips in Skagit!
The Chinns
It was so nice to catch up with my fellow co-op parent Eileen and her family. This rainy season has not given me many opportunities to work so I am also grateful to be able to do my first mostly indoor shoot at her beautiful house, full of natural light even on a dreary and wet Saturday morning. Had to use my 430exii bouncing off the ceilings but it worked well.
The Chinn children kept me on my toes, especially the youngest, Mr C although he really didn’t mind the individual shots. Just not the group ones!
The Ruiz-Seitzinger Kids
Had another great shoot this morning at Tolt MacDonald Park where it’s always gorgeous. Pictured here are E and her little bro R, who were just awesome to work with. The weather was brisk yet sunny, warming up about 20 mins into the shoot, casting a nice side light.
E found a little butterfly on the ground towards the end of the shoot and I got to capture an amazing moment.
Fall shoot with the Seppis
I met Sandy and her family for the first time at a local moms gathering and was absolutely enchanted by her her little boy. He’s the first 1.5-yr old I know who knows the word “touch down!” and has the cheekiest smile you’d ever seen on a wee boy, as though he knew something you didn’t and you’d regret it in about two minutes.
We shot at McCormick again because it’s just SO pretty out there and we even did some on the trail. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, albeit a little nippy but the sun was out and you really cannot ask for better morning light than a fall morning, with the golden hues cast by the leaves, with the added softness of the famous Northwestern weather. A photographer’s dream – when it’s dry!
See more of the Seppis at my Flickr page or add me on Facebook (ID: Jennifer Tai)!
Autumn shoot with the McColls
Autumn has got to be the photographer’s favorite season. Need I iterate why?
It was a BEAUTIFUL October evening and after an initial miscommunication, the McColls and moi got together at a local park and it worked out better in the end! Look at all the colors!
The lovely Rene and her son, C.
Husband James and their youngest, M.
Autumn shoot with the Walshes
One of my favorite parks, the Tolt MacDonald Park in Carnation was perfect last Sunday for our fall evening shoot. I used my 24-70mm L glass the whole time with no extra lighting. The overcast evening sky was just perfect, it was nippy but dry (thank goodness!), and at around 4pm, it had the sweetest light.
TM has a huge picnic field with some lovely maples and oaks that covered the ground with the loveliest leaves. The kids had such a great time playing with a big pile of leaves we found. Definitely one of my most fun shoots. I am definitely using this place again!
Meet the Smiths!
I had the pleasure of photographing my friend Laura and her beautiful family over the weekend. Laura runs Blue Sky Camp right here in our little town and my daughter Raeven loves it. It’s run right there on her property and she has goats, chickens, an apple orchard and just a wonderful place for kids to run around and have fun during the summer.
Took a few shots of them picking apples and trying to feed the goats with ‘em.
Was a fun morning. Thanks Laura!
